The Position

The HR business partner for talent management will be responsible for aligning the business objectives with employees and HR strategies and procedures. The position serves as a strategic HR partner and change agent to management on HR related issues.

Job Location: Chennai, India

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong understanding of the organizational structure, business strategy, dynamics, plan and activities to drive business performance through people strategy and solutions

  • Partner with business and functional leaders and their respective domains on developing people strategies to drive business performance

  • Work with the center of excellence (CoEs) and shared services to execute people initiatives to provide best-in-class talent management solutions, employee relations, and compensation and benefits management

  • Provide consultation and recommendation to Leaders in devising and implementing current and future people related decisions and initiatives

  • Provide data-driven insights and consultation to define the internal career path, succession planning, performance appraisal, and other employee life events

  • Improve and execute annual performance appraisal programs (conducting assessment centers, an internal talent evaluation process), and identify opportunities to strengthen the status quo

  • Work with management in handling employee grievances and other sensitive situations, conduct investigations as required, and advice the business on the most effective solution

  • Partner with the leadership team on compensation strategies enabling the organization’s ability to retain top talent

  • Work with HR Operations and Shared Services teams to execute organization restructuring and changes in the policies and procedures

  • Serve as a program manager for large-scale HR projects (such as merger and acquisitions) as required

  • Report team’s performance, development initiatives, improvements and other reporting to Management

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Proven experience in handling talent management for large-scale organizations

  • Accountable for people-related initiatives and executions

  • Ability to develop, lead and execute HR strategies

  • Demonstrate leadership in building and implementing programs in one or more functional areas of the HR discipline, employee relations, performance management, benefits, compensation, training, and organizational development—preferably in the technology or professional services industry during a period of rapid growth

  • Excellent communication skills, both in written and verbal form, are mandatory to ensure clear and concise communication of information across the organization

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain collaborative setting, build relationships with diverse people across the organization

  • Provide credible HR guidance to and influence management at all levels, including senior leadership

  • Work effectively with a wide array of personality types and all job levels

  • Demonstrate exemplary ethics and integrity, including the ability to handle and maintain the integrity of confidential information

  • Active commitment to the identification and appropriate resolution of all business issues, whether they are rooted in business problems or are pure compliance concerns

  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to significant matters

  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Attention to details, strong negotiation and influencing skills

Qualifications

  • 8 to 12 years’ experience in Human Resources, with 5 years’ experience as an HR Business Partner

  • Any graduate or post graduate in Human Resources specialization

Travel

  • Travel from time-to-time to other offshore delivery locations
