Director - HL7 & Application Interfaces

The Director for HL7 will be responsible for managing overall HL7 implementation projects in Access Healthcare. This position reports to the Head of Application Services.

Work Location: Chennai, India

KEY tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsible for HL7 Implementations:

    • Planning, communication, documentation, and maintenance activities of HL7 implementation projects

    • Perform analysis, development, validation and testing, and maintenance of related system interfaces

    • Review of current infrastructure and resource capabilities required and take required measures

    • Maintain checklists for new interface installations and upgrades

    • Ensure resource capabilities are up to the needs of the project

  • Responsible for Project Management:

    • Manage technical resources within budget and project schedule

    • Interact with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project life-cycle

    • Develop project plan, schedules, and timelines

    • Joint representation in PMO to ensure service quality readiness before project go-live

    • Ensure proper communication with the top management – status update, issue resolutions, propose alternatives, and provide recommendations

    • Periodic assessment and analysis of project risks and risk mitigation strategies, update quality requirement checklists and to raise Early Warning Signals

    • Responsible for project documentation and customer deliverable (e.g. status reports, proposals, presentations)

  • Provide Customer Support and Issue Resolution

    • Acts as a technical escalation for HL7 analysts, engineers, client managers, and other stakeholders

    • Provide customer support and issue resolution as agreed in the statement of work

    • Assist customer team, as needed, as a technical expert related to the system interface

    • Maintain complete records of activities and customer specifications

  • Responsible for Team Management

    • Monitor team’s work and communication within and outside the team

    • Provide required support and expert assistance to HL7 analysts, interface engineers, and operations team throughout the process

    • Engage with interface applications team and align them towards organizational goals

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Experience in developing HL7 interfaces

  • Ability to problem solving and troubleshooting

  • Familiar with healthcare related systems and the data type processes in the healthcare environment

  • Strong expertise required in windows server environments

  • Deep understanding of application interfaces, support, troubleshooting, and development tools

  • Ability to collaborate with strategic and execution realms, with minimal supervision

  • Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities; ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior leadership team and external business partners

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound business judgement

  • Ability to handle global or multi-location teams and customer projects

  • Possess excellent leadership, analytical, project management, and people management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain productive lasting relationships, even in difficult situations, with diverse people spanning internal/external organizations

Qualifications

  • 16+ years of experience in managing application interfaces

  • 10+ years of experience in HL7 interfaces

  • US Healthcare experience preferred

Travel

  • Travel from time-to-time to customer offices and offshore delivery centres
